Why all natural?

Every day, we are faced with a myriad of decisions that we need to make—what to eat, what to watch and what to wear when you wake up in the morning. There’s also pressure to make responsible decisions—not wanting to contribute to climate change or exploitative practices. It’s… a lot. Let us make one aspect of this easier for you—our elevated basics are completely natural. What that means is none of our luxurious fabrics contain any polyester.

Why? The fast fashion industry is one of the leading contributors to plastic pollution. India creates over 25,000 tonnes of plastic waste every year. To put that in perspective, that’s the same weight as 9,000 elephants. Synthetic fibres like polyester and nylon which are forms of plastic cannot biodegrade or be recycled, even when they’re mixed with natural fabrics like cotton and silk. They lead to microplastics, which are teeny-tiny pieces of plastic that are invisible to the naked eye.

Okay, but you aren’t tossing that polyester dress into the ocean, so you’re good, right? Well, no. a single load of laundry could release hundreds of thousands of these tiny fibres into the ocean, where they make their way into the bodies of marine life and seep into our plants.

To us, sustainability is no longer an option, it’s the only option. That’s why we use natural fabrics—they feel good, look amazing and don’t add to our mounting plastic pollution crisis. It isn’t just our clothes either, we have made sure no plastic of any kind is used in our reusable packaging.
